Favorite Childhood Book: Can you pick a favorite??? How about 5? Blueberries for Sal by McCloskey, The Story of Ferdinand by Leaf, Trouble with Trolls by Brett, Time for Bed Sleepyheads by Chartier and Chartier, all of the Magic School Bus books.
Book I'm and Evangelist for: His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. I read these books for the first time in 7th grade. I was so engrossed in them I wouldn't go to sleep until 3 in the morning on a school night, and my mother would ground me from reading, of all things! I've continued to read them every year since then, and whenever I just need to sit a read for a bit and can't decide what to read, these are always the books I turn to.
Book that changed my life: see the above line.
Favorite line from a book:
"Seems to me --"lee said, feeling for words, "seems to me the place you fight cruelty is where you find it, and the place you give help is where you see it needed..."
The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman, page 208
Book you most want to read again for the first time: Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
Book you bought just for the cover: Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See |
